Being Still

One of my favorite bible verses is Psalm 46:10 which says: “Be still and know that I am God…”. But if I’m honest being still is not really a strength of mine. But after the last week, this verse keeps repeating itself in my head.

This month is Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month. I was trying to organize something for us to do in our town, specifically for September 7 which is World Duchenne Awareness Day. And then I hurt my back and my busyness came to an abrupt halt.

And the whole time I kept thinking that God was telling me to be still. As I sat still and rested my back I decided that planning something for Duchenne Day was not what I needed to do this year. But I also decided while being still, that this year needed to be about education. So I will be posting several posts with information about Duchenne over this month.

I am still asking that you help show your support by wearing green or your Cade’s Journey shirts this month. And also the one thing that I think I am supposed to organize for September 7 is a day of prayer for better treatments and eventually a cure for this disease. I ask that you pray for Cade and our family but also for all the boys suffering the same diagnosis that we received 2 years ago.

Also pray for our upcoming clinic day this month. We hope that you will join us on this journey and feel free to share any pictures that you may take of the green you are wearing. It really brightens our day when we see those.

Blessings. Lynnette

  1. I enjoy your blog so much and am looking forward to learning more. Your family is on my prayer list and I will continue to include other boys with this disease. I hope you are feeling better by now. I pray for strenght for you. Take care.
