Going Up?

We took a little vacation this weekend and went to the Backyard Farmer Garden in Lincoln. We did some other fun things while we were there too but Cade and I watch the Backyard Farmer on television every week and decided we wanted to check out the garden.

So we checked with Aunt Amber for a weekend we could come down and loaded up and went to Lincoln. It was fun to get to check out all the plants and even be able to know what they were since they label them all.

Cade was a little disappointed that we didn’t see any of the panel members in person. But I also think he was glad that he got to go there and look around.

There was also the added benefit of being in Lincoln and getting to go to the new Scheel’s store. He hasn’t been there since they opened the new store with the Ferris wheel inside.

I mean you can take the boy out of the country where he can hunt a lot, but he will still find a place that allows him to be in his element.

He got to play a game of mini bowling, look at all the hunting stuff and even get a new air soft fun. But probably the biggest moment came as we neared the end of our time in the store. We knew we were going to ride the Ferris wheel but he really wanted to ride the escalator. I was hesitant to let him and we had to figure out about his scooter too.

We worked out the details and decided we could do it. On we climbed and he wanted to stand on his own step.

You guys, I wish I could have recorded his enthusiasm and excitement over being able to ride the escalator. It was like he had won some prize.

It may not have been the easiest thing to do but I am so glad we did it for him. And I pray that all of you find joy in things that may seem so common.

Blessings. Lynnette
