Yesterday, we built the greenhouse. It really wasn’t that hard to put together. But looking at the directions that came with it, I began to reflect back on Cade’s diagnosis and our plan for his treatment. I felt like the directions well mirrored how I think it is going with Cade and his diagnosis. We have the big picture of how we want Cade’s life to look like, incorporating therapy and medicine while still allowing him as much as a normal life as possible.
The problem comes with fine details of how to put that together to make that happen. That’s where our instructions were lacking also. But Brent and I slowly plugged away at the pieces and suddenly it all came together. I am hopeful that this is what will occur with Cade.
We are really excited to see where this newest addition to our farm will lead us. We are even researching an idea on how to possibly heat this greenhouse. Cade is ready to start planting seeds in the greenhouse. We had to explain to him that we needed to figure out how to heat it in order for him to plant anything now.
This weekend also started Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month. I thought it was fitting to put together the greenhouse at the beginning of the month that will be all about the color green! Anytime this month when you are wearing green and thinking of Cade, feel free to send us a picture. We love to see all the support.
Also we head back to Denver this week and Friday is also World Duchenne Awareness Day. We would love to see all the pictures of anyone wearing their Cade’s Journey shirts or anything green. It gives us something to look forward to when we are between providers at the clinic. It ends up being a long day with a lot of information to absorb so we welcome the breaks! If you don’t mind, I would also love to put those pictures up on the blog.
We adore everyone that is on this journey with us. Sometimes we get so busy we forget to remind you that you are all very special to us. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and we love to see all the feedback. It makes our hearts happy. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Friday!
Blessings. Lynnette
