We want to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas! This picture came from our Alaska trip this summer through Make a Wish. Cade wished to go meet the cast from Alaska: The Last Frontier. They posed with us for this group picture and I knew immediately that this would be our Christmas card this year.
So far the boys have received many nice gifts along with Brent and I. We still have a few more gatherings to attend so we will be abundantly blessed this year!
We truly hope that you are all having a wonderful Christmas wrapped up in the love of God. Easter is my favorite holiday but Christmas is a close second! I love how connected these two holidays are!
Brent’s family has a long standing tradition of having a family Christmas breakfast. I hosted it this year and it makes my heart happy to know that we are contributing to the tradition by being the next generation to carry it on.
But even greater than that, I pray that we are passing on the tradition of a love of Christ. I pray we are passing on hearts of service to our boys. That’s why we did “The Giving Manger” as our Christmas Advent time this year.
Jesus is the reason for this season but there are many other traditions mixed into Christmas. But the one thing I pray we all remember is that Christ was sent to us as the greatest gift ever. One we could never make the nice list on our own. A price so great that comes from a love so great!
John 3:16 says that: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”. God loves us all so much that He gave us the only perfect gift. The gift of eternal life with Him in heaven as Father and child.
Whatever your traditions are, please remember that the perfect gift has already been given. The only thing necessary for you to do is receive it.
Have a Merry Christmas and a blessed new year. We have many new things in the works for 2019 and we can’t wait to share them all with you.
Blessings. Lynnette
The “chill” you feel when you hear “O Holy Night” is also generated by “The Perfect Gift” What a precious, thought provoking post!!!
